Game Notes

  • In the top of the 10th innings, Jordan Hauser of the Whitehall Wolves scored the go-ahead run from 3rd base on a wild pitch with 2 outs to give the South a 2-1 lead. Implementing MLB extra-inning rules for the first time in CRBL history, each division started the 10th inning with a runner on second base.
  • Hauser started the top of the 10th inning on second base and moved to 3rd base on a sacrifice bunt by the Eau Claire Bear’s Josh Hallings.
  • Right-handed pitcher Tyler Gray of the Eau Claire Rivermen was named game MVP. Gray pitched two scoreless innings of relief (2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 HA, 1 BB, 4 K) in the 7th and 8th, working out of a bases loaded, no out jam in the bottom of the 8th.
  • This was only the third All-Star game in CRBL history to go into extra-innings. The first was in 1951 when the League All-Stars beat the Hamilton Chevrolets 9-8 in 11 innings at the Marshall Playground n Chippewa Falls. The second was in 1967 when the South beat the North 15-13 at Tilden in 10 innings.
  • The 2-1 result was the lowest scoring all-star game since 1909, when the Eau Claire Giants beat the League All-Stars 1-0 at Driving Park in Eau Claire in the first all-star game played in CRBL history.
