Todd Lasher became the CRBL’s all-time leader in RBIs with a single up the middle in the top of the third inning to give the Bears a 3-1 lead. Lasher then hit a 2-run homer in the 5th inning with two outs to make the Bears’ lead 5-1
Lasher now has 368 RBIs in his CRBL career. The previous record was held by Bloomer’s Scott Stuckert, who finished his 35-season Hall of Fame career with 365. This is Lasher’s 23rd season in the CRBL
Two other Bears’ pitchers – Jameson Bender (2 ip) and Aaron Skypeck (2 ip) – combined to finish the game
The lone run for the Rivermen came in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Brett Jensen scored on Andy Niese’s 2-out double
Lefty Jonah Mueller pitched well in relief to finish out the game for the Rivermen (IP-3.2, H-3, R-0, ER-0, BB-2, K-7)
The Cavs’ Andrew Milner pitched the first no-hitter of the 2024 CRBL season. It was the 69th no-hitter in league history and the 24th of which was of the 7-inning variety.
A four-run first highlighted by James Davis’ 2-run double gave a lead to the Rivermen they would never relinquish. A 3-run homer by Joel Effertz in the 4th inning blew the game open for the ‘Men.
EC Rivermen starting pitcher Tyler Gray notched his 100th career CRBL win. Tyler is only the second pitcher in league history to accomplish such a feat. The other is CRBL Hall of Famer Jim Hoepner, who is the career leader with 109 wins.
· This was a continuation game from Wednesday, July 19th at Carson Park, which was stopped due to weather in the bottom of the 4th inning with the Cavs ahead 1-0.
· With the win, the Cavs clinched the #3 seed and the first wildcard spot in the CRBL playoffs.
· Jesse Urbanek pitched well in relief for the Rivermen: ip – 4.2 h – 1 r – 0 er – 0 bb – 0 k – 6
· The Rivermen scored 4 runs with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning, knotting the score at 4-4 on Carson Soukup’s 2-out, bases clearing double.
· Eau Claire won the game in the bottom of the 8th frame on Jake Becker’s 2-out base hit to centerfield, scoring Blake Loegering from second base. Blake led off the 8th inning with a single.
