The Eau Claire Bears continued their run of success last year finishing another season at 17-5. The Bears made a run at the state title by winning their regional and knocking off defending champs Osseo Merchants in the first game of the State Tournament with a complete game shutout pitching performance by manager Chevy Tollefson. The Bears would be stopped in the semi-finals and their run would end there. Bears are looking to take the next step this season and bring home a 4th State TItle.
The Bears are looking to return most of their team this year with a mix of a few new faces this summer. Most of the core has stuck together vets Chevy Tollefson and Blake Johnson look to lead the way on the mound and Sam Janni, Josh Halling, and Todd Lasher hope to stay hot all coming off incredible seasons in 2019. Two Bears legends will not be returning to the field this year as future hall of famers Reed Pecha and Matt Lunde have hung up their cleats for now. Both were incredible impacts for the Bears and were the foundation the team was built on. Congrats to both on incredible careers. GO BEARS
