Augusta Athletics stayed in it until the end, but Beef River Bullfrogs pulled away late in a 5-3 victory on Thursday.  The game was tied at three with Beef River Bullfrogs batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored one run for Beef River Bullfrogs.

Augusta Athletics fired up the offense in the first inning, when Augusta Athletics scored on a stolen base during Jakob Rosemeyer’s at bat. Then Rosemeyer doubled , driving in one.

In the top of the sixth inning, Beef River Bullfrogs tied things up at three.  Dylan Fox singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Beef River Bullfrogs pulled away for good with two runs in the seventh inning.  In the seventh Lucas Reese singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Beef River Bullfrogs scored three runs in the sixth inning.  Beef River Bullfrogs’s big inning was driven by singles by Reese and Fox.

Ethan Bartels led things off on the mound for Beef River Bullfrogs. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over nine innings, striking out eight.

JJ Breaker toed the rubber for Augusta Athletics. The righthander went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out seven.  Logan Brown and Parker Gehrmann entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Brown led Augusta Athletics with two hits in four at bats.

Beef River Bullfrogs scattered seven hits in the game.  Carter Johnson and Reese all had multiple hits for Beef River Bullfrogs.  Johnson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Beef River Bullfrogs in hits.
